“It’s me! Codeee!”
We were out to brunch one morning, after what was another late nighter. Thinking back, I can’t even remember what the event was this particular time but it had rendered all who sat at our table in a solemn and silent state. I had casually said something to the effect of “where are we?, I don’t even know who you are.” to our beloved Cody. This was said in a casual and jokingly way and was received with an abrupt “It’s me! Codeee!”. The look of disappointment on Cody’s face as she attempted an unneeded reminder of her identity was the stuff of legend. I can only compare this to staring at a cute baby, or petting a bunny…maybe watching an old couple hold hands….stuff like that.
Months prior while taking photos of sam outside the warehouse, Cody, having just got off work at The Red Stag wondered up the block to chat. It wasn’t until this moment that I had ever taken a photo (film) of Cody. I wouldn’t know it at the time, but she was on her way to quickly becoming part of the ole’ gang. Easily one of the more fun and genuinely happy people I’ve ever, ever met. She holds a special place. Come back to us cody!
